Multiple Approaches to Curriculum Design
My understanding of learning and ‘teaching’ is that educators should aim to engage students in the content by incorporating multiple methods of teaching a syllabus. Learning happens when the students are actively engaged in the content.

Careful consideration should be given when planning lessons and the way which instruction is conveyed to students. This in turn will affect the student learning gains and assessments of the content knowledge.

Strategies to include in my best practice of teaching would be Aim to understand learners individual characteristics as different students have different needs to learning.

I enjoy an outcomes based teaching method, where there is no specified style of teaching. Students have a clear understanding of what needs to be accomplished in the class, they are given opportunities to do so, and they are given assessments that support them to achieve certain goals/results. This technique is essentially different from what teachers and students are comfortable with compared to mainstream schooling, however, I consider this method of teaching a priority due to the fact that our students are all diverse and there is no one method that fits all. Attitude of the teachers and students play an important role in successful learning.

Another reason why I enjoy outcomes based education is because of my understanding that students learn and process information differently and many factors from cognition to emotion play a role.
